Today I’ll be reviewing the new Augvape VX200 Box Mod and Jewel Disposable Tank. Throughout my vaping journey, I’ve always been a big fan of Augvape. They’ve released some fantastic products in the past few years, including the Druga RDA, BTFC RDA, and also Druga Foxy Box Mod. The Augvape VX200 is the follow up to the highly successful Augvape V200.
I never got the chance to review the Augvape V200, but I do remember it being shaped like a Honda engine. This particular device took the industry by storm, as the shape and overall design was famously unique. This is where the similarities stop between the V200 and VX200.
The Augvape VX200 Box Mod is a dual 18650 regulated device, that is made primarily out of ABS plastic and PC. The device itself measures 88mm x 45mm x 30mm. It’s capable of outputting 5 to 200 watts, a voltage range of 0.2 to 7.2 volts and also a resistance range of 0.05 to 3 ohms.
The device fits perfectly in my hand and is very ergonomic. Down one side of the mod is your fire button. I’m not usually a fan of this type of design because the click doesn’t feel tactile enough, but I think Augvape may have changed my opinion. The click was nice and felt natural.
Your batteries are housed in the back behind a tinted plastic magnetic panel. On the front, you have a beautiful OLED screen that displays all the various information you may require including wattage, resistance, applied voltage, and battery level. One cool feature is the puff counter. It wraps itself around the outer rim of the wattage indicator.
The Augvape VX200 is jam-packed full of modes and safety functions. Simply click the side fire button three times to access the main menu. The modes include variable wattage, temperature control, variable voltage, and bypass mode. You can also change the color of your screen, which I thought was cool.
The Jewel is a disposable mesh sub-ohm tank. That’s right disposable! This means that once your coil has burnt out, you simply remove and throw it away. On top of the mod is a very out of place rubber grommet that allows you to fill the tank up. The tank will hold 3ml of eliquid, which can last you most of the day.
The look and feel of the Jewel is nice. The diamond structure catches the light and makes the tank sparkle. Inside the tank is a 0.15 ohm Kanthal mesh coil head, that provides some thick flavourful vapor. There really isn’t much to complain about with this tank. It’s simple to use and also so easy to set up.
The best price I could find online for the Augvape VX200 Box Mod and also Jewel Disposable Tank was $44.99 USD. I think that’s an awesome price, especially so for a whole kit. I would even dare say it could be one of the cheapest dual 18650 kits on the market currently.
The box artwork is reminiscent of a Desire Design product. Nothing too flash, just a simple white box with a patterned background. Inside the packaging, you will find the VX200 Box Mod, 3 x Jewel Disposable Tanks, USB cable and also user manuals.
After using this for the past two weeks I have really started to enjoy it. Yeah sure it’s got its faults, but I keep reaching for this kit over and over again. Augvape has done a spectacular job and I thank them for releasing another great product.
