The Freemax MAXPOD Pod System is a flavor focused all-in-one beginner device. The star of the show is the patented mesh coil technology. It rivals all other pod brands in terms of flavor, throat hit, and also coil life span. The IML chassis also ensures a comfortable grip and vivid color variations for you to choose from. But how does it stack up against the hundreds of other similar style devices already on the market? Keep reading to find out.
Freemax was first established way back in 2013. They’re a well-respected vape manufacturer based out of Shenzen, China. Freemax primarily focuses on developing innovative sub-ohm tanks and pod-based systems. All of which are well known for producing fantastic flavor. Their back catalog is also quite impressive and extensive. It includes the popular Fireluke line and GEMM 80W Starter Kit.
The Freemax MAXPOD Pod System is compact and portable. It’s the perfect device to carry while vaping on the go. It measures 100.81mm’s by 21.81mm’s by 14mm’s and weighs just 56.3 grams. The 550mAh rechargeable battery is small but relatively long-lasting in comparison to similar products on the market. It can output a modest 8 to 11 watts of power and has a resistance of 1.0 to 1.5ohms.
The MAXPOD features a handy LED battery light that will illuminate when you take a hit. The different colors indicate how much battery you have left. To charge, just plug your device into a MicroUSB port. This type of charging method is a bit dated and I would have preferred a USB-C. The device itself is made from strong Zinc-Alloy and feels quite durable. Furthermore, the cartridge ontop is PCTG and feels comfortable on the lips.
The refillable cartridge is held in place by two strong magnets. So no need to worry about it falling out of your pocket or bag. It can hold 2ml of eliquid. It would have been nice to have a bit more capacity. Filling is easy and also mess-free. Just unplug the side silicone stopper and squeeze in your ejuice. It can accommodate a chubby gorilla tip or glass dripper. I’ve experienced no leaking whatsoever.
The MAXPOD Kit includes two amazing coils from the new Freemax SaltCoil Tech 2.0 line. They’re press-fit and sit snug in your cartridge. The 1.0ohm NS Mesh Coil and also 1.5ohm NS Mesh Coil performed superbly. The flavor was true to taste. Furthermore, the pull was smooth and produced minimal vapor production. I would recommend this vape to people that enjoy a nice, restrictive MTL.
The Freemax MAXPOD Pod System is currently available to buy right now. The cheapest price I could find online was $29.99 USD from VaporDNA. I think this is pretty expensive for an AIO device. It doesn’t really bring anything new to the table, apart from the great flavor. If the MAXPOD was released a year or so ago, I’d be singing a different tune.
The Freemax MAXPOD Pod System comes in a variety of colors that include white, blue, green, red, yellow, and also black. They all feature a nice gloss finish and stainless steel side panels. The overall design is a little uninspiring in my opinion, but each to their own. The packaging on the other hand is modern and aesthetically pleasing. Inside you’ll find your battery, cartridge, 2 x coils, lanyard, charging cable, and also a user manual.
