The Geekvape AEGIS 20W Pod System is one of the toughest and smallest AIO devices on the market in 2020. It’s also the first all-in-one device that boasts an IP67 rating. This means it’s waterproof, shockproof, and also corrosive resistant! It comes packaged with two future proof mesh coils and a super-fast USB-C charging cable. Keep reading to find out how the new Geekvape AEGIS 20W Pod performs and if I would recommend it or not.
Geekvape is a well-liked vape manufacturer based out of Shenzhen, China. Founded in 2015, they quickly acquired a good reputation for making quality made devices. The ongoing and very popular AEGIS series has helped with this greatly. AEGIS products are built to last and are practically indestructible. The last Geekvape product to be released was the Aegis Boost, in 2019. It was met with rave reviews and positive feedback.
The Geekvape AEGIS 20W Pod System is compact and lightweight. It measures 88.1mm’s by 40mm’s by 18mm’s and weighs just 73 grams. This makes it perfect for vapers that work or frequent the great outdoors. Geekvape has squeezed an 800mAh internal battery within the main chassis. It can also output 12 to 18 watts, with a resistance range of 0.4 to 3.0 ohms. While this may sound low, it feels surprisingly powerful.
The AEGIS 20W Pod boasts a long-lasting battery. You should be able to get two days worth of casual vaping out of it. The charging method has been updated to be USB-C. This is much quicker than MicroUSB charging. Furthermore, it’ll take you roughly 30 to 45 minutes to get a full charge. The charging port has been ingeniously engineered to be waterproof; even without a cap. Just make sure to dry it out before connecting.
The 3.5ml eliquid capacity cartridge is press to fit and can go in either way. I found it to be a bit stiff to get in and out. Unfortunately, no adjustable airflow. I think this is a missed opportunity that could have been easily incorporated. The coils are plug ‘n’ play and will be compatible with future Geekvape products. The 0.6 ohm G Mesh coil produces amazing flavor. It also has lots of airflow, making it a tight DTL and loose MTL.
The single fire button allows you to turn the device on and off with five clicks. This is great for added protection, but not the most convenient. I was hoping for a dual firing method that allows you to activate it with your breath. The LED light will let you know when it’s firing and how much battery is left. The mouthpiece was notably comfortable and very ergonomic.
The Geekvape AEGIS 20W Pod System can be bought right now for $29.90 USD. I found this price at Heaven Gifts. I think that’s affordable and would happily recommend this device to my friends and family. If you’d like a bit more power, then I’d suggest checking out the AEGIS BOOST. It’s very similar to this product but can output 40 watts. In saying that, the AEGIS 20W Pod performed superbly and is much cheaper.
The Geekvape AEGIS 20W Pod System is available in a handful of sleek colored variations. This includes black, gunmetal, silver, and also rainbow. The exterior is made from Zinc-Alloy and looks a treat. The faux leather and also pinstripe stitching makes it feel like a true AEGIS. The packaging design is contemporary and minimalistic. Inside you’ll find your Geekvape Aegis Pod, cartridge, 2 x coils, USB-C charging cable, and also a user manual.
