The Geekvape Aegis Squonk 100W Starter Kit is the world’s first IP67 top-fed squonker! It’s perfect for vapers that enjoy the convenience of squonking but are frequently outdoors. The Geekvape Aegis Squonk is an extremely durable device that boasts being shockproof, dustproof, and also waterproof. It features a 2-1 modular design that allows you to swap out the rear section. This essentially turns it into a Geekvape Aegis Solo Box Mod.
If you were a fan of the Dovpo x TVC Topside Dual 200W Squonk Mod, but wanted something more robust and compact, the Aegis Squonk is a great alternative. It features the same upgraded AS-100 Chipset that vapers loved in the previous Geekvape Aegis X 200W Box Mod. It boasts a full temperature control suite that includes VPC, TC, TCR, and also Bypass Mode. Keep reading for a full breakdown of this brand new vape starter kit.
The Geekvape Aegis Squonk is a lightweight device that’s made from strong zinc-aluminum alloy. The added resilient rubber material helps protect the device from accidental falls and aids in the overall grip. It takes a single 18650 external battery to power and measures in at 86.4mm’s by 41.2mm’s by 31.5mm’s. As with any good Aegis device, the finish is amazing. The edges have also been rounded off to increase the overall ergonomic feel.
The Geekvape Aegis Squonk can output 5 to 100 watts, with a resistance range of 0.05 to 3.0ohm’s. In all honesty, I would have preferred a bit more power considering it comes with a dual coil RDA. It does though feature a whole heap of different settings to play around with. The fire button has a nice click and is very responsive. The two adjustment buttons allow you to navigate the crystal clear OLED display screen.
One annoyance I had with the Geekvape Aegis Squonk was how difficult it was to swap out and clean the squonk bottle. This is, of course, a necessary evil to maintain the impressive IP67 rating. The squonk bottle can comfortably hold 10ml of eliquid and can be filled via a sliding top cap. This is relatively easy to do unless you’re using anything larger than a 120ml bottle.
On top of your squonk is a standard spring-loaded 510 connection that features a rubber seal. This creates a tiny gap between your mod and atomizer. A slight eyesore, but once again required for the rating. The device is available in a variety of cool colors that include black, gunmetal grey, red, orange, blue, and also green. The small aesthetic change that each color provides is modern and visually appealing.
The Geekvape Aegis Squonk Starter Kit includes the previously released Tengu BF RDA. It measures 24mm’s in diameter and is made from superior stainless steel. The classic T-style build deck was extremely easy to build on because of the expansive juice well and four separate posts. Just slot your legs in, level, and, trim. Each coil is secured from the top via individual flathead screws. There were some noticeable machine marks, but nothing major.
The elongated T post features an innovative triangle head that’s supposed to help even out your wick saturation when dripping. I personally didn’t test this out, but the idea is cool. The kit also includes a squonk ready, gold-plated 510 pin that protrudes more than enough to safely use on a hybrid mechanical device. You have two Ultem 810 drip tips to choose from, one being super low profile. It was a bit hot on the lips for me.
Geekvape is well known for its innovations within the manufacturing industry. In point of fact the adjustable airflow ring that’s concealed within the top cap. With the airflow wide open I experienced superb flavor and decent clouds. But as you go to close the airflow off, it moves the entire deck, resulting in a less than optimal airflow direction. I think this was a case of Geekvape trying too hard to be different.
The Geekvape Aegis Squonk 100W Starter Kit is currently selling for $92 USD from Heaven Gifts. I think that’s a reasonable asking price considering your getting a squonker and an RDA. I would recommend this starter kit to new vapers that might be interested in learning how to rebuild and people that frequent the outdoors. The sheer longevity of this device because of the IP67 rating makes it a worthy purchase in my opinion.
The packaging for the Aegis Squonk Starter Kit is very typical for Geekvape. The iconic orange and black color scheme, branding and a nice photograph. The RDA comes in a variety of matching and complementary colors that include black, golden, blue, stainless steel, rainbow, and also gunmetal grey. Inside you’ll find your squonk, RDA, rear section, 2 x 0.4ohm N80 fused Clapton coils, cotton, tools, spares, and also a user manual.
