The Smoant Battlestar Baby is the latest pod system to be released this year by powerhouse vape manufacturer Smoant. Everything they’ve touched in 2019 has turned to gold. Popular products like the Pasito have been a hot commodity because of its superb performance and affordable price tag. The Battlestar Baby possesses these same great qualities but in a much more modern and also compact package.
At first glance, I wasn’t really impressed by the Battlestar Baby. Furthermore, it looked very similar to the VOOPOO Drag Nano. But as always the difference is in the details. The Battlestar Baby boasts a quicker recharge time, higher wattage output, and also lower resistance output. Little things like this make a world of difference to the flavor and overall vaping experience. Keep reading for my honest opinion on the Smoant Battlestar Baby.
The Smoant Battlestar Baby Pod is small in stature and lightweight. It measures 60mm’s by 45mm’s by 15mm’s and is made from primarily Zinc-Alloy. The 750 mAh battery will provide you more than enough power to MTL all day long. This is complemented by the Type C USB that can be fully charged within 40 minutes. As a result, you can vape longer and more frequently compared to other pods that only use Micro USB technology.
Smoant has cleverly incorporated a user-friendly plug and play coil system. No need to take anything apart, just pull out the old coil and insert a new one. There are two coil types to choose from. This includes a 0.6 ohm mesh coil, which is good for 15 watts and a 1.2 ohm Ni-80 coil, that’s good for 10 watts. I personally preferred the mesh coil and found it provided the perfect balance between airflow, cloud production, and also flavor.
The pod cartridge can hold 2ml of eliquid. It can be easily filled by removing the rubber grommet on the side. The filling port provides ample space for a chubby gorilla or glass dripper tip. I did though experience some leaking that could be due to a faulty part. I also would have liked it if they incorporated an eliquid window. As a result, I wouldn’t have to keep pulling out the cartridge to check the remaining eliquid.
The most innovative thing about the Smoant Battlestar Baby Pod has to be the lanyard. Now I’m not the biggest fan of lanyards for pod devices. I think they generally look pretty ridiculous. But what Smoant has done is ingeniously incorporated the charging cable within the lanyard. This is so practical and definitely something that I can endorse.
The Smoant Battlestar Baby Pod is currently retailing for $29.90 USD from Sourcemore. Make sure to use our exclusive coupon code ‘WEVAPE’ to get 38% off at checkout. I feel that’s a fair asking price and relatively competitive in comparison to similar products on the market. All in all, I think the Smoant Battlestar Baby holds its own quite well and is worth a purchase.
The Smoant Battlestar Baby 15W Pod System is available in a variety of colors. This includes black, stainless steel, red, gunmetal, blue, and also green. The packaging is aesthetically pleasing and easily accessible. I’m not 100% sold on some of the patterns that they offer, but as always that’s personal preference. Inside you will find your Battlestar Baby Mod, 1 x cartridge, 2 x coils, Type C USB cable, and a user manual.
