The SMOK RIGEL 230W Starter Kit is a robust device that’s set to compete with the popular Vaporesso GEN. It features a luxe design and incorporates a smooth rubberized back for easy gripping. It also boasts instant fire, great flavor, and heaps of clouds! The RIGEL sounds great on paper but how does it compare? Keep reading to find out.

SMOK is one of the largest vape manufacturers in the world. It was founded in 2010 and back then they mainly focused on tanks and mods. SMOK has been recently dominating the pod market. Their top-selling products from 2020 include the RPM 2 Pod and OFRF Nexmesh Pod. They’ve now shifted their focus back to what made them great. I can’t wait to see what SMOK releases next!

SMOK RIGEL 230W Vape Mod Kit Review

Box Mod

The SMOK RIGEL 230W Box Mod measures 88mm’s by 44mm’s by 28.8mm’s and weighs 264 grams with batteries installed. It features a contoured half-circle chassis that’s made from good quality Zinc-Alloy and also rubber. As a result, it will fit perfectly into the palm of your hand. Furthermore, the rubberized back makes it super easy to grip onto. The material is very similar to the Vaporesso GEN, but not as nice in my opinion.

The SMOK RIGEL 230W Box Mod boasts a solid battery door that has no rattle. It can fit atomizers up to 26mm’s on top with no overhang and also features battery venting. The device fires within 0.001 seconds and is extremely powerful. It can output 1 to 230 watts of roar vaping power. As a result, you’ll need two 18650 batteries to power this bad boy. The 0.96″ inch display screen is clean, crisp, and relatively simple to navigate through.

SMOK RIGEL 230W with TFV9 Sub-Ohm Tank Review

Sub-Ohm Tank

The SMOK RIGEL 230W Starter Kit comes with the TFV9 Sub-Ohm Tank. It measures 28mm’s in diameter and can hold a massive 6.5ml of eliquid. The main chassis is made from superior 304 stainless steel and the glass has been reinforced with Pyrex glass. The top-fill system has been tweaked and now requires you to pull and then slide. I think this makes it a bit more childproof than previous models.

The TFV9 Sub-Ohm Tank produces great flavor and a huge amount of vapor. It’s also relatively quiet for a SMOK product. This is because the airflow is being slightly diffused via a center-positioned piece of metal. The press-fit coils that come with the kit appear to be a modified version of the old baby beast coils. You’ll find two 0.15ohm V9 mesh coils in the box. The longevity of these coils is average at best and can occasionally leak.

SMOK RIGEL 230W Box Mod & 6.5ml TFV9 Tank Review

The SMOK RIGEL 230W Starter Kit is available to buy right now but are selling out fast. The best price I could find online was $49 USD from Everzon. Make sure to use our exclusive 5% off coupon code ‘WWM5’ at checkout. I think this asking price is more than fair. You’re getting a decent kit with everything you pretty much need to get started. I would recommend the SMOK RIGEL 230W Starter Kit to new vapers.

SMOK RIGEL 230W USB-C Starter Kit USA Review

The SMOK RIGEL 230W Starter Kit comes in a variety of colors that incorporate some really cool ombré styles. This includes black/red, silver, black/blue, black, and also black/green. The packaging design is pretty good; all things considered. I think SMOK has finally nailed a style they like. It’s modern and informative. Inside you’ll find your RIGEL Box Mod, TFV9 Sub-Ohm Tank, 2 x coils, spare tube, USB-C charging cable, and also a user manual.
