The SMOK Trinity Alpha is a budget-friendly AIO pod that features a long lasting 1000mAh battery and large 2.8ml eliquid capacity cartridge. It goes without saying that the Trinity Alpha looks very similar to the original Lost Vape Orion Pod and a handful of other recent devices. Lost Vape was one of the first brands to popularize this style of ‘box pod’. Since then Geekvape, Smoant, and even VOOPOO have had a crack.
Out of all the copycats, I’ve found the SMOK Trinity Alpha Pod to perform the best. If you didn’t already know, SMOK is a well known Chinese manufacturer that was founded in 2010. They boast a massive back catalog of popular products that include the Alien Box Mod, Mag Box Mod, and also the TFV12 Sub-Ohm Tank. Keep reading for a full breakdown of the SMOK Trinity Alpha Pod.
The SMOK Trinity Alpha Pod System is a relatively compact device that measures 91mm’s by 38mm’s by 16mm’s. It’s also lightweight, coming in at only 90 grams. The integrated battery can output between 6 and 30 watts, depending on which mode you have set. You can choose between soft, normal or hard and the power/resistance will change automatically. This can range from 0.5 ohms to 3.0 ohms.
On top, you have a lockable proprietary cartridge and a nice Delrin 510 drip tip. The cartridge can accommodate either a 0.6ohm Nord mesh coil or 0.8ohm Nord mesh MTL coil. Either of these coils produces fantastic flavor and decent clouds for a pod system. The coil seals are air tight, but I found the slide fill cap can be a touch loose on some cartridges. Just be aware of this and you shouldn’t have any leaking problems.
The airflow is a little more open compared to your standard MTL vape. If this isn’t your cup of tea, you can always put your finger over one of the air holes to make it a bit more restrictive. The front face features an ergonomic fire button, LED battery indicator, settings button and also a USB charging port. Multiple safety protections are pre-installed to help avoid any mishaps like short-circuiting or low voltage.
The panels on either side of the pod look stylish and appear to be made from high-quality plastic. The overall aesthetic of the SMOK Trinity Alpha Pod System is super luxe. My only gripe is with the included lanyard. I would have preferred a little clip on the device rather than squeezing on a small rubber ring. Of course, this is personal preference and you don’t necessarily have to use the lanyard.
The SMOK Trinity Alpha 30W Pod System is currently retailing for $21.95 USD or $46.12 AUD. I think this is a great deal and much cheaper compared to similar devices. The SMOK Trinity Alpha is the perfect device to use in between your daily box mod vaping. It can also be used by new vapers that want to ditch cigarettes for a healthier alternative.
The SMOK Trinity Alpha 30W Pod System is available in a wide variety of beautiful resin colors. This includes prism chrome, black, red, blue, rainbow, gold and also green. The packaging design is simple and modern. On the cover is a color specific photograph of your device. Inside you will find a Trinity Alpha Pod, 1 x cartridge, 2 x coils, Micro USB cable, and instruction manual. It would have been nice if SMOK included more than one cartridge.
