1. DOVPO x Vaping Bogan Blotto RTA
The Blotto RTA isn’t just a pretty atomizer, it also boasts superb performance, flavor, and cloud production. This award-winning RTA was designed by the Vaping Bogan in collaboration with DOVPO. The Vaping bogan is a very popular YouTube vape reviewer and world-class Aussie larikin. The Blotto RTA can accommodate up to 6.5ml of eliquid and also features a unique bottle cap style base.
The Blotto is a dual coil RTA that’s super easy to build on. The deck also provides 242 degrees of airflow which aids in the fantastic flavor and vapor output. If you’re new to the rebuildable game, we’d highly recommend checking this RTA out first. It’s extremely affordable, unique, and fun to vape on. The Blotto RTA comes in a variety of cool colors and comes with a heap of goodies. This includes a skull-shaped bottle opener.
The GeekVape Zeus X is by far one of the best RTA’s for clouds released in 2020. It not only looks luxe but it also vapes like a dream. From head to toe, the Zeus X oozes quality. It boasts a no-leak top airflow system and can hold 4.5ml of eliquid with the bubble glass installed. The stylish Goon 810 drip tip feels super comfortable to vape on and it’s also interchangeable. The overall machining is noticeably superb and it looks mint on top of any vape.
The Zeus X RTA features a table deck design that’s relatively easy to build on. This is good because it raises your coils off the base and as a result, a heap of airflow can flow freely underneath. The glass used can withstand high temperatures and is also pretty strong. It’s one of the best dual coil tanks on the market at the moment. A must buy for any vaping enthusiast that enjoys solid flavor and big plumes of vapor.
The WOTOFO Profile Unity is still in my regular rotation because it’s one of the best RTA’s for flavor. It was made in collaboration with TVC and Mr. JustRight1. The Profile Unity RTA has been designed from the ground up for big tasty hits. As with any WOTOFO product, you already know you’re getting a quality product that’s going to last a long time. The main chassis is constructed from superior stainless steel and as a result, carries a nice bit of weight.
The tank can hold a massive 5ml of ejuice with the bubble glass installed. You may notice that the build deck features the same wide clamp style system used in the original Profile RDA. Furthermore, it’s super easy to build on. Just curl your mesh strips and slot them in. Simple as that. The Profile Unity RTA is also very affordable. I’d highly recommend picking one up if you enjoyed the previous Profile atomizers.
The OFRF Gear is one of the best single coil RTA tanks ever released. Manufactured in collaboration with WOTOFO, the OFRF Gear is very stylish and also easy to build on. The unique design and compact shape make for a fantastic little 24mm RTA. It can hold 2.3ml of eliquid and the airflow is also fully adjustable via the dual bottom slots. The flavor is noticeably good because of the short air travel time and domed top cap.
Fun fact about this particular RTA. OFRF designed and developed it in 90 days! That’s amazingly fast and very impressive considering how good it is. I think the main thing that makes this RTA stand out from the crowd is the overall aesthetic. To this day nothing similar has been released. The iconic gear like accent and minimalistic design approach has been beautifully pulled off. As a result, it looks great on most devices.
The Hellvape x Heathen Dead Rabbit RTA features an innovative rebuildable deck design. This improves performance and makes it super easy to build on. The iconic four prong bunny ear posts can accommodate either a single or dual coil setup. You can expect fantastic flavor and also lots of clouds from the Hellvape x Heathen Dead Rabbit RTA. This is all thanks to the top side diagonal airflow.
It also boasts a configuration that minimizes leaks, which is a common problem with most RTA’s. With the bubble glass installed it can accommodate up to 4.5ml of eliquid. As you can see from the picture above, it comes in a wide variety of vivid colors. It’s also very affordable compared to similar RTA’s on the market in 2021. Any Hellvape fan should pick this up immediately. It’s a great RTA to vape on daily.
The acronym RTA stands for ‘Rebuildable Tank Atomizer’. RTA’s are just one of many different types of atomizers that you can use on your vape mod. Most RTA tanks are easily identifiable because they contain the following components,
RTA tanks are unique in the way they function. A standard RTA tank utilizes gravity and also pressure. This is contrary to the more modern method of eliquid delivery like squonking or dripping. Please be aware a well built RTA can be just as good as any RBA or RDA atomizer. Furthermore, it just takes time and practice to get the most out of your RTA.
How does an RTA tank work?
In layman terms, an RTA tank works as follows,
Install your rebuildable coil or coils into the deck. The deck sits in the middle or just under the tank.
On either side of the deck will be wicking holes that you pull your cotton through.
The coils and deck are encapsulated within a vacuum-tight chimney or bell system.
Gravity and the pressure created by this seal helps feed eliquid up your wicks.
During the heating process, the eliquid will turn to vapor and shoot up the chimney.
The most important thing to remember when building an RTA is to get your wicking right. If you don’t do this properly, your RTA won’t work as intended. In the beginning, you may experience the occasional dry hit. This means your wicks are too thick or too thin. Also, don’t forget that it’s important to use quality vape cotton.
Why you should use an RTA
If you’ve never used an RTA before, we would recommend first trying out an RDA. This is because RDA’s are much more forgiving if wicked poorly. Once you feel comfortable building on an RDA, then trying out an RTA will be less daunting. RTA’s are great if you enjoy flavor and clouds but are constantly on the go. The extra eliquid capacity that an RTA can provide is the biggest reason why you should use one.
What’s the difference between an RTA and RDTA?
The main difference between an RTA and RDTA is the deck design. An RDTA usually has an open deck, with no chimney or bell system. The ejuice reservoir sits beneath the deck and also sometimes even allows the user to drip. It essentially bridges the gap between what’s considered an RDA and RTA. Overall RDTA’s provide the best of both worlds and although its old technology, we have seen more brands releasing RDTA’s as of late.
What are the advantages of using an RTA?
Using an RTA comes with many advantages. This includes,
Cheaper to run compared to a sub-ohm tank.
It can hold a tank worth of eliquid.
Similar flavor and cloud production to other rebuildable devices.
What are the disadvantages of using an RTA?
While RTA’s are great, they do have their disadvantages. This includes,
Some RTA’s can be challenging to build on due to their size constraints.
If you don’t wick properly, you can get dry hits.
Changing flavors and also re-wicking requires a little more effort.
Larger overall appearance.
