The Vapefly Optima 80W Pod Mod is the world’s first rebuildable mesh coil ready device! It comes with everything you need to build your own RM coils. I found it extremely fun and as a result, would highly recommend that you try it out for yourself. In total, you can build 10 coils. For the price, I think that’s amazing value for money. But how does the device perform? Keep reading to find out.
Vapefly is an innovative vape manufacturer that’s always been first to market with a variety of new and exciting engineering feats. This includes the Manners Pod that had a slanted cartridge and also the Vapefly TGO Pod that had a fingerprint scanner. Before establishing their own brand, the talented Vapefly team worked with other leading brands.
The Vapefly Optima Pod Mod is a compact yet hefty device. It has a nice weight to it and can be easily slipped into your bag or pocket for on-the-go vaping. The Optima measures 22.4mm’s by 30.7mm’s by 115.0mm’s and is made from good quality materials. It accommodates a single external 18650 battery and can output an impressive 5 to 80 watts. I would love to see Vapefly eventually make a 21700 version.
The Vapefly Optima Pod Mod is very similar to the recent Wotofo SMRT Pod Mod; in the sense that you can build your own coils. I found this very easy to do and quite enjoyable. The advantage of the Optima Kit is that it includes enough materials to build 10 coils, unlike the 7 that the SMRT Kit offers. The flavor is exceptionally good and it produces a decent amount of vapor. Furthermore, I experinced no leaking whatsoever when using either 3.5ml capacity cartridge!
The Vapefly Optima Pod Mod can also take premade coils. This includes a 0.3ohm mesh coil and a 0.6ohm mesh coil. They also produced great flavor and smooth airflow. I can honestly say that you can do both MTL and DTL with this kit. The only awkward thing was the side fill port. The positioning made it tricky to fill up the cartridge entirely, without making a mess. I would have personally preferred a top-fill system.
The Vapefly Optima Pod Mod features a basic 0.91″ inch display screen. It boasts a variety of modes that include different power levels, curves, and even a DIY setting that allows you to get around the auto wattage limit. Furthermore, you can lock your wattage and still use the device. This is such a simple setting that a lot of manufacturers forgot to add.
The Vapefly Optima 80W Pod Mod is currently available to buy now from a variety of online vendors. The cheapest places I could find it for were $35.90 USD and $49.95 AUD. I think that’s bang on the money for a kit like this. It includes everything you need to get started vaping and more! I would highly recommend checking this pod mod out and also consider buying it if you’re new to vaping or like tinkering.
The Vapefly Optima 80W Pod Mod comes in a handful of different colors. This includes black, blue, gunmetal, red, and also silver. I’m not the biggest fan of how the device looks, but each to their own. I personally prefer a more minimalistic look. On the other hand, the packaging was super modern. It features a really nice black and yellow color scheme. Inside you’ll find your Optima Pod Mod, standard cartridge, rebuildable cartridge, 2 x coils, accessories, USB-C charging cable, and also a user manual.
