The Vapefly TGO 70W Pod Mod Kit is the first fingerprint protected hybrid device to ever be released. Whilst this isn’t the first time we’ve seen this type of tech incorporated into a vaping product; it’s never been that responsive or easy to use. The Vapefly TGO also boasts a powerful battery, quick charging, great flavor, and heaps of eliquid space. This is Vapefly’s second entry into the pod market. Is it a gimmick or an actually useful product? Keep reading to find out.
Vapefly was founded in 2017 and is based out of China. Previously their factory helped develop and manufacture other popular vaping brand products. Their point of difference is the fact they have a German-based team consisting of dampfwolke7. He’s a famous German YouTuber that’s heavily involved in developing new product ideas for Vapefly. To date, they’ve released a handful of best selling rebuildable atomizers like the Kriemhild Sub-Ohm Tank.
The Vapefly TGO 70W Pod Mod is well built and solid. It measures 102mm’s by 50mm’s by 23mm’s and carries a nice bit of weight. The main chassis is made from good quality Zinc-Alloy. It feels durable and looks fantastic. The internal 2300mAh battery is powerful and extremely long-lasting. You should be able to get a week’s worth of use out of it before having to recharge. This is easily done via the conveniently placed USB-C port.
The Vapefly TGO 70W Pod Mod can output an impressive 5 to 70 watts of raw vaping energy. This can be modified via the simple menu system that’s displayed on a crystal clear 0.96″ screen. It features four different modes and the usual set of protections. The cartridge ontop can hold 4.5ml of ejuice and has a built-in drip tip. It would have been if it was interchangeable but that would have affected the fill port slide.
The Vapefly TGO 70W Pod Mod boasts an Aegis Pod Mod style airflow system that works brilliantly. Unfortunately, you will have to adjust the resting position of your finger so as not to cover the airflow hole. Additional airflow slots on the sides allow you to easily view your eliquid level. I was able to get a nice semi-restricted MTL pull from the TGO and the flavor was so good! I also experinced no leaks or condensation whatsoever.
The Vapefly TGO 70W Pod Mod will force you to set up two admin fingerprints when you first turn on the device. While slightly cumbersome, it’s a once-off setup. Each fingerprint requires five different impressions; just like a standard smartphone. Once your fingerprint is configured, you have the option to turn off the protection or change it so it only prompts you every 24 hours.
The Vapefly TGO 70W Pod Mod is currently up for pre-order on most online vendor websites. The best price I could find was $59.99 USD from Vapesourcing. Make sure to use our exclusive 12% off coupon code ‘WWM12’ at checkout. I think that’s a bit excessive for a vaper not too concerned about the fingerprint tech. But well worth the asking price if you are. Furthermore, I found the fingerprint security intuitive and seamless. It’s the perfect device for vapers that have small children.
The Vapefly TGO 70W Pod Mod is available in a wide variety of racing-inspired color combinations. This includes pearl white, obsidian black, tiffany blue, camaro yellow, black/red, ruby red, and also gunmetal. The packaging is modern and rather aesthetic. The only design decision I wasn’t particularly fond of was the ‘Designed and Manufactured by’ text and icon stamp on the side of the device. Inside the package, you’ll find your TGO Pod Mod, 2 x coils, cartridge, USB-C charging cable, and also a user manual.
