The VAPTIO Razor Pod Starter Kit is a USA designed AIO device, that’s both sleek and stylish. It features a beautiful exterior and some modest innovations that include a pre-heating function. The market experienced a huge influx of pod systems being manufactured in 2019 and this trend doesn’t look to be slowing down in 2020. That’s why pods nowadays need to be something special to stand out from the crowd.
VAPTIO is a Seattle based vape design company that’s been in existence since 2014. Their back catalog is relatively widespread and includes various starter kits, sub-ohm tanks, box mods, and also vape accessories. Please be aware that while the designs are done stateside, the general assembly is performed in China. This is purely done to keep costs down. Keep reading for a full breakdown of the VAPTIO Razor Pod Starter Kit.
The VAPTIO Razor Pod Starter Kit has a simple form factor and measures just 22mm’s by 10mm’s by 11.6mm’s. This is fairly standard and as a result, makes for a very compact vape. The main body has been cold-forged and boasts a primarily aluminum construction. This solid casing houses a small 550mAh internal battery. It should get most vapers through the day before having to recharge.
The VAPTIO Razor Pod Starter Kit uses a modern Type-C charging port. The integrated LED ring around the fire button will indicate how much charge you have left. It took me roughly an hour or so to fully recharge from empty. The Razor Pod runs a continuous power output of 11.5 watts, which is equal to 0.8ohms of resistance. This runs through the fixed coil that’s installed in the detachable cartridge piece.
The medical-grade PCTG cartridge can hold 2ml of eliquid and is refillable. The detachable mouthpiece is smooth, safe, and also comfortable. When removed it will reveal your two filling ports. One hole is for filling, the other is to allow excess air to escape. The cartridge is designed to take either freebase or Nic Salt vape juice. The flavor I experienced was average at best and produces minimal clouds.
You can choose to button fire or draw to fire. The handy preheat function can be easily activated by clicking the fire button three times. This will gently warm your coils prior to vaping. Once completed a vibration notification lets you know when it’s time to vape. Another neat feature has to be the notification you get once you’ve vaped the equivalent of one combustible cigarette. This function is great for smokers.
The VAPTIO Razor Pod Starter Kit is currently only available from the official VAPTIO website. It’s retailing for $33.90 USD. I feel this is quite expensive in contrast to similar devices on the market. It’s also worth noting that replacement cartridges are nowhere to be found. Hopefully, this will change once the product is properly released and listed on other online vendor websites.
The VAPTIO Razor Pod Starter Kit comes in three distinct colours that include red, green, and also black. I’m a big fan of the coating and it appears to be quite durable. On the back of the pod is a large but subtle embossed VAPTIO logo. The packaging is quite nice and modern. It features a carbon fiber pattern, some branding, and an image of the device. Inside you’ll find your battery, 2 x cartridges, Type-C USB cable, and instruction leaflet.
