VooPoo is back with a new rendition of the hugely popular Drag device. The VooPoo Drag 2 Kit comes packaged with a matching Uforce T2 Sub-Ohm Tank. The overall presentation is premium, from the box to the contents inside. This is something most people come to expect from VooPoo. The original VooPoo Drag 157W was a favorite of mine from 2017, so I was super keen to get my hands on this kit for review. Lets get into it.
The VooPoo Drag 2 is a regulated mod made from Zinc Alloy & Resin. The power range goes from 5 watts all the way up to 177 watts. Housing the updated Gene chip you can expect almost instant firing and superior performance compared to most other vaping devices on the market. The new FIT mode that is included with the firmware automatically sets your wattage based on battery output and resistance. This functions works ok for sub-ohm tanks but not so much for rebuildables.
The VooPoo Drag 2 body is much more ergonomic than the original. The harsh edges have been smoothed out to make the device fit more nicely in hand. The battery door does have a bit of play to it and feels flimsy. The weight has greatly decreased from 212 grams down to 158 grams. I personally liked the heavier feel, as it made the device feel more durable. But that is only a minor criticism.
The resin side comes in a variety of colors including island, flame, aurora, scarlet, fire cloud, puzzle, dawn and ink. The finish and engineering is fantastic. The VooPoo Drag 2 accommodates dual 18650’s. The battery life is pretty good. I got a full days worth of vaping out of it before having to recharge. This device is jam packed with safety features like time out protection, over charge protection and short circuit protection.
The Uforce T2 is an overall good sub-ohm tank. It performs well and is aesthetically pleasing to the eye. It does have some small flaws but noting major. For example the custom drip tip is unfortunately not interchangeable and at times feel a bit too tall/wide. The 510 connection also protrudes from the base of the mod. This makes your atomizer appear to be floating.
The standard glass included can hold 3.5ml of ejuice or 5ml with the bubble glass. The top slide filling mechanism works well and is easy to operate. The internal machining is of high quality, with no sharp edges to be seen. Airflow is super smooth because of the three slots located at the bottom of the tank.
The included ceramic coils provide good flavor but not the best. I would have liked to have seen a mesh coil thrown in like they did for the VooPoo Mini Drag 2. Mesh coils give much better flavor in contrast to ceramic. But you can purchase them separately as the coil threading is universal for most VooPoo products.
The VooPoo Drag 2 177W & Uforce T2 Starter Kit is going to set you back $79.95 USD or $105.53 AUD. I think this is slightly more expensive than it should be but would still happily pay that amount because I’m a fan of the original Drag. I would recommend you pick up the VooPoo Drag 2 if your searching for a reliable, hard hitting and longer lasting kit.
The packaging is very luxurious. The box feels like faux leather and features a minimal gold trimmed design. Inside you will find your Drag 2 177W, Uforce T2 tank, 2 coils, spare glass, o-rings, USB cable and user manual. Everything fits in snugly and looks pristine.
