The Wismec Reuleaux TINKER 2 200W Starter Kit is a powerful and fast-firing device that’s designed for harsh conditions. Similar to the GeekVape Aegis Legend, the Tinker 2 is dustproof, shockproof and also IP67 water resistant! This particular kit comes with the brand new Trough Sub-Ohm Tank, which is a dead set cloud machine.
Wismec is well known in the vaping industry for pushing innovation and manufacturing good quality devices. So far in 2019 they have released 5 different products and its only mid-year! This included the unique Luxotic Surface and budget-friendly Sinuous V200. How does the Wismec Reuleaux TINKER 2 kit hold up? Keep reading for a full breakdown and our honest opinion.
The Wismec Reuleaux TINKER 2 mod weighs roughly 200 grams ( without batteries ) and also measures 90mm’s by 53.5mm’s by 28.5mm’s. The chassis is made from zinc-alloy and also faux leather. I tested the shockproof claim thoroughly by dropping the TINKER 2 from pocket height onto carpet, wooden floors and concrete. Apart from some scratches and graze marks, it held up pretty well.
I experienced similar success in regards to the water-resistance claim. After 1 hour in a sink full of water, the TINKER 2 worked fine. The batteries were bone dry, with no visible water breaches. Overall I was very impressed by the amount of punishment this device could take. Please remember that the tank is not indestructible, just the mod.
This box mod takes dual 18650 batteries that can output 200 watts of raw vaping power. The voltage range is between 0.5 to 8.0 volts. Depending on the mode, the resistance can be 0.05 to 3.5 ohms. The firing speed is lightning quick, clocking in at 0.001 seconds. This is all made possible by the Avatar chipset that has featured in many popular Wismec devices.
The Wismec Reuleaux TINKER 2 comes packed to the brim with settings. This includes a full temperature control suite and lots of regulated protections. Everything is controlled via two adjustment buttons underneath the 0.96 inch OLED screen. The display is very retro and features way too many clashing colors. The yellows and reds are especially hard to see under sunlight, but legible when indoors.
The Trough is a big sub-ohm tank. It measures 30mm’s in diameter and can hold 6.5ml’s of eliquid. The body is made from superior stainless steel and is overall well engineered. The Pyrex tube is relatively strong and looks pretty decent for a bubble glass. The top slide refill system is easy enough to use and includes a smart silicone stopper. This prevents any leaks, even when tipped upside down.
When I previously reviewed the WT coils, I was bitterly disappointed. The flavor was absolutely terrible. This time around, they weren’t that bad. Not great, but good enough to vape on. I suspect the previous set of coils I used were faulty, so make sure to order some extras just in case you receive duds as I did.
While the flavor might not be that crash hot, the cloud production is through the roof. With little effort, I was able to blow big dense clouds of vapor. As a result, you will churn through heaps of eliquid, but who cares if you’re an avid cloud chaser. The amount of clouds produced can be fine-tuned via the dual slotted bottom airflow control. Also, keep an eye on your wattage because Wismec has overestimated the maximum range.
The Wismec Reuleaux TINKER 2 200W Starter Kit is currently available for pre-order from a select few websites. You can expect to pay roughly $60 to $80 USD, depending on the vendor. I think that’s on par with similar products on the market, at the time of their release. As with any vaping product, you can usually wait a few weeks and get it half price. But you may be limited by color or miss out on it entirely.
The packaging for the TINKER 2 is really nice. On the front face is a beautiful graphic of the kit. The mod itself comes in a few different colors that include titanium grey, blue & purple, black, and also red. I’m not a particular fan of how this mod looks. It feels a bit over the top, but each to their own. Inside your box is the TINKER 2 device, Trough Sub-Ohm Tank, 2 x coils, QC USB Cable, 2 x user manuals and also a bag of spare parts.
